Family Addiction Intervention Service
Over many years, Ocean Recovery Centre has treated many thousands of clients with drug and alcohol addictions. In association with this, we have supported husbands, wives, partners, parents, siblings, grandparents and friends.
At Ocean Recovery Centre, we understand that behind the addiction suffer is a friend or family member who also fine themselves struggling with the impact that a drug or alcohol dependency can have.
During the battle with addiction and its detrimental effects, relationships can be left in ruins. To help achieve a full and lasting recovery for our clients, we believe it is essential that we support their network of friends and family by providing them with the help and guidance they need to support their loved one during the rehabilitation process and beyond.
We offer FREE access to telephone support for any friends or relations before, during and after the rehab treatment programme. For most people this is enough and can dramatically help during difficult times. Others, the effects of the addiction are deep and repairing friend and family relationships may require a more intense family intervention.

We understand that families often struggle to find the right words; worry that they are making things worse; or have lived many years of turmoil, lack of trust and are genuinely worried about their loved ones. We are here to help! For many families or loved ones, they simply want their own support, to be heard, understood and to feel part of the journey; Learning how to cope with and support the new journey to recovery.
This new way of life is a difficult journey for everyone and we are committed to ensuring that our focus remains on:
- > Helping each family member to repair the damage that Addiction has caused.

- > Providing families and loved ones with their own space and time (in their own right) to talk through the difficulties, emotions, fears and understanding.
- > Helping you find new ways to cope, learn new skills and rebuild your families future.

Where do these sessions take place?
Centre Based: Most of our clients enjoy holding these sessions in the privacy and comfort of one of our private residential treatment centres. These sessions can take place in any of our UK facilities nearest to your own area.
Home Based: Some clients prefer to hold their sessions in their own home, which can be arranged and enable you and your family to make the most of your support sessions in your own surroundings.
How many sessions will I need?
We understand that every family is unique and for some a short number of sessions may be just what they need to help them during the early days. However, for some families the years of hurt, distrust, damage and fear are not easily repaired in a short amount of time. Choosing a longer package of support increases the likelihood of real family success and may be just what you need to rebuild your relationships.
As a minimum, our Standard Starter Package of 4 Weeks is available for any family ready to access our support. This enables our Family Intervention Worker to work closely with you each week and develop a plan that is as unique as you are, start to explore your fears, hurt and concern and then start to rebuild your lives.
During the first four weeks, you can discuss your next steps, review your progress and then choose exactly how many more sessions you will need to secure great family relationships.
This is flexible and you can simply buy additional sessions per week (or more) until you are all ready to move forward together without our help.
