Before you attend rehab, you will probably experience a range of emotions that are collectively termed ‘denial’. When you suffer from an addiction to drugs or alcohol, it’s difficult to admit that you can’t control your behaviour. This will likely make you feel powerless and motivate you to conclude that you don’t need professional help because you can ‘sort this out yourself’.
Overcoming Denial
We ask you to find the inner strength to overcome your denial. Unfortunately, tens of thousands of lives are lost each year at the hands of addiction because of the power of denial. Overcoming denial is the first step to long-term recovery. If you struggle to overcome denial, we advise you to take small steps towards accepting you suffer from an addiction to drugs or alcohol. The first step you can take is to contact us today on 01253 847 553 for free help and guidance.
Once you have overcome your denial, the next logical step towards recovery is to seek out professional addiction treatment. The most effective form of addiction treatment is known as ‘residential treatment’. This is where you are removed from your usual environment and placed in the safety of a purpose-built rehabilitation centre. This means you are removed from your drug-using or alcohol consuming environment whilst you undergo your treatment.

About Treatment in North Yorkshire
The rehab facility we offer in North Yorkshire accepts clients all ages, gender and religion. All you need to be is over the age of 18 to benefit from our treatment.
We also accept clients who suffer from dual diagnosis. Dual diagnosis is when you also suffer from an underlying mental health disorder alongside substance misuse. We treat a variety of complex disorders such as eating disorders, clinical depression and a number of psychiatric and impulse control disorders.
Our treatment programmes generally require you to attend for around 28 days. However, we also offer abbreviated detox programmes for between 7-14 days in duration.
All detox programmes we offer are supported by our in-house team of clinicians. You will benefit from 24/7 medical supervision, and we also provide you with a range of medications to help you detoxify without suffering from adverse withdrawal symptoms. This is applicable for both alcohol and drug detoxification programmes. Before your detox programme begins, you will receive a full physical examination.
The treatment we offer is holistic and therapeutic in nature. We also offer 12-step work for those who regularly attend Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous, although this is not the focus of the counselling and therapy we offer in North Yorkshire.
As stated above addiction affects people psychologically, behaviourally and physically so at Ocean Recovery we have therapies targeted towards each area. We have counselling and traditional speaking therapies. Art, relaxation and dietary therapies. Medical doctors and a number of social activities, quiz and film nights for example.
We believe Ocean Recovery Centre is the ideal place to undergo your rehab treatment in North Yorkshire. To ensure your treatment is long-lasting, we also offer you an extended aftercare programme.
