Drug and Alcohol Rehab Yorkshire
Yorkshire is well known for its Moors, flat caps and puddings. It’s also home to a sprawling and vibrant brewing and distilling culture. If you look down beer and spirit aisles of any UK Supermarket, you will notice Yorkshire is well represented when it comes to the production of alcoholic beverages. This strong link between Yorkshire and alcohol also has its dark side. Unfortunately, many people in Yorkshire live with alcoholism. Some of these people may also experience drug addiction.
Many of these people will experience denial about their addiction. This is particularly frustrating for family members of individual addicts who must witness their loved one’s descent into chaos and ruin.
To assist you or your loved one overcome denial, contact Ocean Recovery Centre today on 01253 847 553. When you contact us, our admissions team will carry out an important assessment. This assessment will help you or your loved one come to terms with the extent and gravity of the addiction.
This service is offered free of charge. Of course, we shall also explain the various private treatments we offer when you contact us today.
Our Treatment Options in Yorkshire
The harsh reality is that unless you seek out treatment, you are unlikely to be rid of your addiction to drugs or alcohol. By far the best variety of addiction treatment is known as residential treatment. This is when you actually leave your home and live within the rehab centre for around twenty-eight days.
Assessment
Before treatment begins, you will benefit from an in-person assessment. This assessment is conducted by a qualified member of the team. Your health will be assessed from both a physical and mental standpoint.
This initial assessment allows us to personalise your detox and rehabilitation programme. The information you share during the assessment allows us to prescribe a suitable dose of anti-withdrawal symptom medications. This dose is set to reflect the severity of your addiction and your physical characteristics such as your sex, weight and height.
Detox
Following this assessment, you will undertake clinic detoxification. The detoxification process means you benefit from medical observation when you need it the most. This is particularly advantageous during the initial few days into your detox when you are most likely to experience withdrawal symptoms.
During your detox programme, you will consume powerful and prescription-only medications that take the edge off your withdrawal symptoms. Unfortunately, many people die each year when they chose to undergo a ‘DIY detox’. When you undertake your detox at Ocean Recovery Centre, this will really not be a risk due to the extended medical care we provide.
Therapeutic Treatment
Following your detox programme, you will also take part in a highly structured and robust therapeutic programme. This programme aims to strengthen your recovery and also to give you the tools to avoid relapse.
At Ocean Recovery Centre, we believe that addiction is often the symptoms of deeper psychological problems. Therapy sessions aim to treat these underlying emotional causes of addiction so you may avoid relapse for the rest of your life.
Counselling sessions typically consist of group and one-to-one therapy sessions. Group therapy, like the name suggests, takes place in groups of around 3-5 people. During group sessions, you will liaise with other clients.
Groups sessions are supervised by one or two qualified addiction counsellors. During group therapy sessions, you will work with your peers to devise solutions to your problems. Towards the end of the session, the group’s supervisor will conduct a feedback session to ensure you take the maximum amount of value from the session.
What Happens After Treatment?
All treatment programmes we offer are conducted on an in-client basis. We offer out-client treatment via aftercare. However, to access the aftercare service we offer, you must first complete a residential treatment programme. Aftercare sessions are offered for an additional 12-months following the conclusion of your residential treatment programme.
Aftercare consists of support from our dedicated aftercare team and a detailed plan for our clients to follow. All plans are designed for each client’s specific needs and there are a number of elements with take into account whilst designing their plan:
- Age
- Gender
- The addiction
- Personal triggers – which will be identified during residential rehabilitation
- Personal medical history
- The social environment you will be returning to
- The work environment you will be returning to
- If a client has previously attended a rehabilitation service
