Find Treatment Centres for Drug & Alcohol Rehab in Wiltshire
Addiction is an incredibly serious condition that can have a devastating impact upon almost every aspect of a person’s life. An alcohol or drug addiction carries with it enormous risks.

Chronic health conditions such as liver disease, kidney damage and various forms of cancer (such as mouth cancer and bowel cancer) have all been linked to substance abuse.
More acute complications like strokes and heart attacks, alcohol poisoning or drug overdose also become much more likely as the quantity and regularity of consumption increases.
Mental health issues like depression, anxiety and schizophrenia can all be badly exacerbated by substance misuse, and in some cases can even be triggered by it.
This is all without even mentioning the damage that it can cause to personal relationships. Addiction can cause a person to act in ways they otherwise never would- they can begin to exhibit selfish, potentially even violent behaviour.
Such changes often drive rifts between family members, friends and lovers, in the worst cases permanently.
Unfortunately, a drug or alcohol addiction will only get worse over time. As a person drinks or uses more and more their body begins to build up a tolerance, so that it takes more alcohol and drugs to achieve the same desired effect.
The brain is essentially ‘rewired’, making it harder and harder to resist the compulsion to drink or use. Addiction is a cycle, one that is incredibly hard to escape from- especially alone.
Drug & Alcohol Rehab Wiltshire
Rehab for drug and alcohol abuse
If you are suffering from an addiction to drugs or alcohol, then residential addiction treatment at one of our facilities may well be the best way forwards. Inpatient rehabilitation has been proven to be one of the most efficient ways to combat and overcome an addiction.
By coming to one of our facilities you will be removed from your triggers- the people, places and things associated with your drinking or drug use- which makes the recovery process significantly easier.
It also means that you will not have ready access to alcohol or drugs, making it almost impossible to fall off the wagon.
The main advantage of private drug and alcohol rehab is that it offers a safe environment in which to undergo drug and alcohol detoxification.
Detoxification, or detox as it is more commonly known, is the process by which your body metabolises the toxic substances inside it, flushing out whatever harmful chemicals are in your system.
This period is generally seen as the hardest part of drug and alcohol rehabilitation because of the withdrawal symptoms that follow. These withdrawal symptoms can be both physical and psychological in nature, and they can potentially be very severe.
It can be a very scary, even dangerous process, but our detox clinics make it as safe as possible. Throughout the detox period you will have constant, ready access to professional advice, support and medical care.
Therapy and counselling services
Once the detox period has been completed, we also offer a number of different mental health treatments and support. Flushing the toxins out of your system is vitally important, but it is only the first step.
At Ocean Recovery we are committed to helping you achieve a lasting, long term recovery. In order to stay sober once you have left us, you will need to make significant changes to your lifestyle and your ways of thinking.
One way in which we can help you to do this is by offering you therapy. One of the most common methods of treating addiction is cognitive behavioural therapy, or CBT for short.
CBT is a kind of talking therapy which aims to change the way in which you approach your problems. It teaches you how to rationalise stressful situations, negative emotions and overwhelming problems, allowing you to break these down into smaller, more manageable parts.
It is often used to help sufferers of mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, but research has shown it to be well suited for addiction treatment too.
As well as CBT we can offer counselling, both as part of a group and one on one with a counsellor.
Counselling sessions will encourage you to explore the root causes of your addiction, allowing you to confront and hopefully come to terms with these problems.
Likewise, educational workshops can give you fuller insight into how exactly addiction functions, better equipping you for your return to normal life post-rehab.
We will help you to develop healthy coping mechanisms so that you are able to resist any compulsions to start drinking or using again, and so that you are able to deal with any future problems in a healthy manner.
Every addict is different, and so the solution to overcoming addiction can vary widely from case to case. We will work with you to find the programme that works for your individual needs, giving you whatever support you need.
Once you leave our clinic you can continue to consider us a part of your support network as we offer a drug and alcohol aftercare programme.
There will always, unfortunately, be the danger of relapse, but we will offer support and guidance for as long as you need us.
Taking the first step
When it comes to recovering from an addiction the first step is the most important one, and often it is the most difficult.
Before you can flush the toxins out of your system or begin to adapt your way of thinking you first need to admit that you have a problem and reach out for help. Remember, addiction does not just go away on its own.
It takes hard work and determination to overcome an addiction. If you think that you have an addiction to drugs or alcohol, then please do not delay.
Reach out to us as soon as you can. Overcoming an addiction is hard, but with our help it is very much possible.
