Why Choose Private Rehab?
Ocean Recovery is a private drug and alcohol rehab. We believe that private and professional treatment is the best way to treat serious addiction. Private rehab offers many benefits that services provided by the NHS do not have.
Quick Admission
When going private for treatment you are not likely to come across long waiting lists that are expected with public services. The admissions process at Ocean Recovery is very straightforward. If there is a space available in the rehab centre, then you can be getting the treatment you need soon after your initial enquiry.
A New Environment
Private rehab offers you the chance to get away from your current environment. This puts you far from daily temptations and triggers, making it easier to focus on treatment. At Ocean Recovery you will be in a calm space and not be burdened by everyday responsibilities.
Wide Range of Treatments
Going private means you will have access to a wider range of treatments than you can expect via public services. The care you receive at Ocean Recovery is tailored towards your specific needs – providing a more effective form of addiction treatment.
A Supportive Space
At rehab, you will be around people who know what you are going through. Fellow clients may offer support if you need it. We aim to create a safe and supportive space at Ocean Recovery to ensure everyone is getting the most out of their time with us.
Our Facilities at Ocean Recovery
Ocean Recovery is situated on Queens Promenade in Blackpool. With this location, you have a great view of the ocean, the beach and the promenade. Within the facility, there are gardens, outdoor seating and a courtyard for you to unwind. The location provides the opportunity for daily walks along the seaside to help keep you active.
We have an onsite chef that will cater to all dietary needs to ensure our clients are well-fed with nutritious meals. You can have access to light gym equipment including weights, yoga mats and fitness balls to keep you fit during your time with us.
Inside the actual building, there are 13 bedrooms, a communal lounge that has access to Sky tv and a modern dining lounge.
Individual therapy rooms and dedicated detox rooms downstairs are the basis of the effective treatment you will receive. A holistic treatment room, state-of-the-art massage therapy chair & relaxation room means you can have access to well-being treatments here also.
The Detox Process
The core of any effective addiction treatment at alcohol or drug rehab is detoxification. Detox is when you stop taking the substance you are addicted to so that you stop becoming physically reliant on it.
This process can be distressing and will likely bring on withdrawal symptoms. Trouble sleeping, nausea, shaking and fatigue are all symptoms you may expect to experience drug detox or alcohol detox.
We will measure the severity of your withdrawal symptoms using CIWA-Ar, which is an assessment of 10 items. This is performed by asking questions about common symptoms like nausea and headaches – adding up to a total score. When the severity of your withdrawal is established, you may be prescribed medication to help curb the discomfort you are feeling.
Detox usually takes between 7-10 days and you will be in a detox room during this time.
Treatments and Therapies at Ocean Recovery
To properly treat addiction, you need to address the psychological side of it. At Ocean Recovery you can attend a mix of individual, group and holistic therapies to help get into a more positive space and learn to deal with your addiction.
Addiction counselling and psychoeducation can help you better understand your addiction. Group-based CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) led sessions will work on your self-confidence and coping skills and again delve deeper into your addiction.
Holistic treatments such as yoga and mindfulness can help you to relax and learn to be in the present more clearly.
Our range of therapies means that you will find suitable treatments for you.
Aftercare and Support After Rehab in Kingswood
Once you leave rehab, the next few months can be tough. Many relapses occur during this time as people struggle to adapt to living sober without the safety net of a treatment centre.
At Ocean Recovery we know this first year is important, so we offer a free 12-month aftercare package. During your time at rehab, you will learn more about relapse prevention and aftercare is a big part of that. By attending support sessions in person or via zoom you have the chance to connect with other recovering addicts and talk about your respective journeys.
Our aftercare support team are also available to anyone who needs some guidance during a tough period. They can ease worries you might have and help you with any early signs of relapse that may be coming to the fore.

Frequently Asked Questions
Choosing the right rehab treatment provider can be a life-changing decision; here are some of the most common questions we are asked pre-admission.
How do I refer myself for treatment?
Referring yourself for treatment at our drug and alcohol rehab could not be easier. All you need to do is pick up the phone and call us.
Upon contacting us, you will undergo a free addiction assessment. Conducted over the telephone, this assessment will essentially enable our team to find out more about you and your addiction.
How long does treatment take?
At Ocean Recovery, our drug and alcohol treatment programmes typically span 28-days. However, we recommend our clients to expect to remain within our residential rehab for as long as six weeks. Although this may seem like a long time to stay in rehab, doing so ensures that an addiction can be successfully defeated.
How Do I Know If Rehab Is Right For Me?
If you find yourself struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction, you may understand that you need professional help and support. Yet, you may worry that rehab is not right for you. While it is entirely normal for you to question if rehab is for you, if you have come to rely on substances and struggle to navigate your day to day life without them, attending rehab is in your best interest.
