Our Facilities at Ocean Recovery
Ocean Recovery is situated on Queens Promenade in Blackpool. With this location, you have a great view of the ocean, the beach and the promenade. Within the facility, there are gardens, outdoor seating and a courtyard for you to unwind. The location provides the opportunity for daily walks along the seaside to help keep you active.
We have an onsite chef that will cater to all dietary needs to ensure our clients are well-fed with nutritious meals. You can have access to light gym equipment including weights, yoga mats and fitness balls to keep you fit during your time with us.
Inside the actual building, there are 13 bedrooms, a communal lounge that has access to Sky tv and a modern dining lounge.
Individual therapy rooms and dedicated detox rooms downstairs are the basis of the effective treatment you will receive. A holistic treatment room, state-of-the-art massage therapy chair & relaxation room means you can have access to well-being treatments here also.
The Detox Process
The core of any effective addiction treatment at alcohol or drug rehab is detoxification. Detox is when you stop taking the substance you are addicted to so that you stop becoming physically reliant on it.
This process can be distressing and will likely bring on withdrawal symptoms. Trouble sleeping, nausea, shaking and fatigue are all symptoms you may expect to experience drug detox or alcohol detox.
We will measure the severity of your withdrawal symptoms using CIWA-Ar, which is an assessment of 10 items. This is performed by asking questions about common symptoms like nausea and headaches – adding up to a total score. When the severity of your withdrawal is established, you may be prescribed medication to help curb the discomfort you are feeling.
Detox usually takes between 7-10 days and you will be in a detox room during this time.
