Early Warning Signs of Addiction

Knowing what addiction can look like is often the first step towards recognising that help is needed. While everyone’s experience is different, there are a number of common signs that frequently appear when drug or alcohol use begins to take control of someone’s life. These include:

  • Differences in mood from usual patterns
  • Changes in appearance or self-care routines
  • Reduced sensitivity to the effects of a substance
  • Changes in spending patterns
  • Changes in usual routines and interests

Understanding Residential Addiction Treatment

When choosing rehabilitation, you’ll need to decide whether inpatient or outpatient treatment is the best option for your recovery.

One of the main advantages of residential rehab is being in a supportive therapeutic environment. We focus on sober living and getting back to enjoying life outside of drugs and alcohol, whilst encouraging healing from the trauma that often comes with addiction. It’s often a relief for many to be away from the negative influences that lead to substance abuse.

With outpatient rehab, you attend scheduled treatment sessions without staying at a residential facility. This flexible approach can be suitable for people with a stable home environment and a reliable support network. When these foundations aren’t in place, residential treatment can offer a more structured, supportive setting to focus on recovery.

Sometimes, the trauma of addiction can lead us to develop a mental health disorder, such as depression or anxiety. Other times, patients have struggled with mental health issues for some time, driving them to develop a dependency. This is known as dual diagnoses.

Our team has extensive experience providing care in these cases, meaning that you’ll supported with personalised care for both addiction and a mental health condition.

What Life Can Look Like After Rehab

Addiction can affect your health, confidence, relationships and daily routine, which is why rehabilitation focuses on more than substance use alone. A comprehensive treatment programme can support you in rebuilding these areas and help you:

  • Recover strength, fitness, and daily mobility.
  • Build lasting, meaningful personal connections.
  • Believe in yourself again.
  • Establish positive daily routines.
  • Feel empowered to make healthier choices.

Support is only a phone call or message away. Speak confidentially with our admissions team about your circumstances, ask any questions you may have, and explore your treatment options by calling 01253 847 553  or using our online form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing the right rehab treatment provider can be a life-changing decision; here are some of the most common questions we are asked pre-admission.

How do i get a family member committed to the idea of rehab?

There are many ways family and friends can convince a loved one to seek addiction treatment. One of the most effective options is through the use of an intervention.

An intervention would involve a member of our team speaking to concerned family members about the best steps to get their loved one to agree to enter rehab.

Our team can hold a meeting involving family members and the addict to discuss all concerns and advise whether rehab is needed. This is often the most effective way to get a family member to commit to rehab.

How soon can I be admitted from Runcorn?

We understand the urgency of getting help. In most cases, Runcorn residents can be admitted within 24 hours, depending on assessment and availability.

Is rehab confidential for people in Runcorn?

Yes, all treatment is strictly confidential, and our centre is discreetly located to protect your privacy.

What addictions do you treat near Runcorn?

We treat a wide range of dependencies, including alcohol, cocaine, heroin, cannabis, and prescription drugs, as well as co-occurring mental health conditions.

Do you offer aftercare for Runcorn residents?

Yes. Everyone who completes a programme at our clinic will receive 12 months of free aftercare, with ongoing support groups and relapse prevention available locally or online.

How long does rehab last in Runcorn?

This will largely depend on what’s been recommended to you by our addiction specialists during the admissions stage. However, we generally recommend that individuals seek residential treatment at our drug and alcohol rehab in Runcorn for a minimum of 28 days.

A 28-day stay at Ocean Recovery will include a comprehensive detox and a fully personalised treatment plan, which will involve participating in a range of evidence-based therapy programmes. Once your stay with us comes to an end, you will also be given a free aftercare package, which will last for a year.
