Drug and Alcohol Treatment in Ormskirk
If you’re looking for drug and alcohol rehab in Ormskirk, there are many options locally for addiction treatment, but you may be wondering which one is the most effective. At the Ocean Recovery Centre, we offer world-class treatment for those who have an alcohol or drug problem and want to turn their life around. Our treatment programmes are tailored to suit your needs, so you have the best possible chance of success.
Looking for drug and alcohol rehab in Ormskirk
The first step towards getting help with a drug or alcohol addiction is to simply admit the problem. Those with addictions are often deep in denial, but there’s often a point where something happens that shows them the extent of their problem. This could be a relationship breakdown, job loss or even legal troubles due to a drug addiction, whatever the reason, once you admit you need help, the last thing you want is a long wait for treatment, which is why we offer admission to drug and alcohol rehab in a matter of hours.
Residential treatment can be one of the most effective ways to treat an addiction. Once inside rehab centres, it’s incredibly difficult to get your hands on alcohol or drugs, so you don’t need to worry about being around temptation. Because the Ocean Recover Centre is set in Blackpool, it’s a handy location less than an hour from Ormskirk and still in the North West but gives you enough space to stay away from negative influences or those who might lead you back into drinking or drugs.
Helping a loved one
Many of the calls to the team at the Ocean Recovery Centre aren’t from people with addictions, but are a partner, friend or family member of someone who is drinking to excess, using drugs or has a different kind of addiction. While family support is important to those with addictions, you simply can’t take care of someone without support, and many people don’t know where to turn for help. The Ocean Recovery Centre are happy to have a chat and offer some advice on the treatment options available.
Sadly, many people with addictions are unwilling to go to addiction rehab, perhaps because they’re deep in denial, or because they feel like it’s a punishment for them. We can help you stage an intervention if necessary, which can give the sufferer the option to undergo treatment and can be an excellent way to get through to people.

Going into rehab
Most programmes at the Ocean Recovery Centre last 28 days, which perhaps sounds like a long time, but allows us to take you through a full programme of counselling and support that gives you an excellent chance of recovery. We’ve tried to make our centre as homely as possible, and our pretty period house is just steps from the beach with cosy, private rooms and pleasant communal areas.
Most people who look for drug and alcohol rehab in Ormskirk will need to go through some form or drug or alcohol detox. Getting these substances out of your system allows you to think much more clearly and means you can move on to the next stage of rehab. It’s not a pleasant process, there can be withdrawal symptoms, but luckily in many cases this passes in a few days and you start to feel better. Because we’re a residential centre, we can offer prescription drugs that have a slight sedative effect, which can help with the worst of the symptoms. We often work with those who have a dual diagnosis and have more than one addiction, but rest assured, our team can come up with a plan for you.
It has been shown time and time again that the most effective treatment for addictions is therapy, so we offer an intensive programme of talking therapies during your stay. Addiction counselling can help you work out why you became addicted in the first place, and helps you develop strategies to stop. You’ll also be invited to group therapy sessions, speaking to others going through a substance misuse issue, as this can help you build a support network.
Post-rehab
Once you’ve completed your programme, there’s still plenty of support available. You can attend our free aftercare sessions for a year, which allows you to get through the most difficult post-rehab period. We may also put you in touch with local groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, who can be an excellent source of long-term support.
The cost of rehab
If you’re looking for drug and alcohol rehab in Ormskirk, then you’ll no doubt be wondering how much it’ll cost. While the price can seem high at first, you have to consider the level of support and therapy included in our packages, as well as a wide range of extras such as meals and activities. It’s also worth considering the cost of rehab versus continuing your alcohol or drug problem. Not only can this be expensive, it can lead to consequences such as legal problems or the loss of your career, so going into rehab could save you money in the long term.
