Drug and Alcohol Rehab Lambeth

Drug and Alcohol Rehab Centres in Lambeth

Here at Ocean Recovery, our drug and alcohol rehab Lambeth has helped countless people recover from their addiction to drugs or alcohol.

Many of our clients believed that they had control over their drug and alcohol abuse, when in actual fact, they were just in denial about their addiction and were hiding their symptoms from everyone around them, even themselves.

This isn’t a sustainable or enjoyable way to live. If you don’t treat addiction it will only get worse, potentially leaving you with irreversible damage both physical and psychological, possibly even fatal.

We strive to welcome all of our clients into our rehabilitation centre within 48 hours of your initial contact with our admissions team.

If you’re ready to take back control of your life and stop abusing drugs or alcohol for good, then we’re ready to support you every step of the way.

Take the first step towards recovery today by calling us on 01253 847 553, text HELP to 83222, or email us at info@oceanrecoverycentre.com.

What causes Addiction to Alcohol or Drugs?

There’s no one reason as to why someone becomes addicted to alcohol or drugs. More often than not, it’s a combination of reasons which has caused someone to develop an addiction.

One of the primary reasons we see is when it starts with people simply enjoying themselves whilst drinking socially or experimenting with marijuana.

This social activity can quickly creep into everyday life, going from irregular use to a dependence on the substance, and eventually to an extremely hard to break addiction.

Another common cause of addiction we see at our drug and alcohol rehab Lambeth, is when someone has suffered trauma in their past such as a bereavement, a job loss, or a family breakdown.

Many people turn to alcohol or drugs as a way to cope with their psychological pain and to numb their emotions. The pain won’t go away by dealing with it in this way, not in the long-term.

You’ll only be making the situation worse, it’s vital that you seek professional support if you’re in a situation like this.

We frequently see people who are more susceptible to drug and alcohol abuse as a result of their family background or the environment in which they grew up in. If you were raised in a household where drug taking and excessive drinking was the norm, then you’re more likely to take part in these activities too.

Is there a connection between Mental Health and Addiction?

There’s a very strong connection between poor mental health and addiction to alcohol or drugs. Mental health problems are another cause of addiction that we see as those who suffer from poor mental health frequently turn to alcohol or drugs as a coping mechanism, however, this quickly turns into a negative cycle that’s hard to break.

It also works the other way as people who are excessively abusing alcohol or drugs are likely to develop problems with their mental health such as anxiety, depression, or bipolarity.

When someone is suffering from both an addiction to alcohol or drugs and mental health problems, we call this a dual diagnosis.

Our excellent team are well trained in many aspects of addiction treatment including dual diagnosis treatment. We can help you to identify which of the two conditions is more prominent or if they’re both equal in strength, we can design a treatment programme to benefit that too.

Please don’t feel as though your condition is too severe or too mild to warrant asking for professional support; this is what we’re here for. We’re dedicated to helping as many people as we can overcome their fears and go on to live their lives in a much more positive way.

What Drug and Alcohol services do we offer?

If you’re ready to embark on this challenging yet highly rewarding experience of drug and alcohol rehab, then we’re prepared with a variety of treatment options to suit each individuals’ unique needs.

You will receive 24/7 support from our dedicated team of recovery workers as you go through each of your therapy sessions. Your addiction treatment programme will typically include a balance of psychological and well-being therapies in addition to a drug or alcohol detox.

Beginning with a visit to our detox clinic is what we normally recommend for most of our clients. This is the most effective way to remove the harmful toxins from your body whilst in a safe and controlled environment.

By going through a drug or alcohol detox at the start of your stay with us, you’re cleansing your physical and psychological health in preparation for your subsequent therapies.

Your therapy sessions will likely include a mix of psychotherapy, counselling, stress management, relapse prevention, cognitive behavioural therapy (also known as CBT), relaxation and sleep management, art therapy, family drug support, mindfulness, yoga, fitness therapy, music therapy, and nutritional support therapy.

We also approach our addiction treatments in a holistic way to ensure that we cover all bases to remove the physical, psychological, emotional, and social connection to addiction.

We also organise social activities for you to enjoy during your downtime such as family visits, group walks or runs, film nights, and quiz nights.
